Emily Kurokawa, MD

Dr. Emily Kurokawa is a double board-certified/board-eligible physician that specializes in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine with a subspecialty in Interventional and Chronic Pain Management. She is a Georgia native and received her Bachelor of Science degree at Georgia State University. Dr. Kurokawa obtained her medical degree at Medical University of the Americas and completed her medical residency training in Anesthesiology at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She completed an additional subspecialty fellowship in Chronic and Interventional Pain Management at the University at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where she gained expertise in cancer pain management at the world-renowned Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Kurokawa is a member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Medical Association, and Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists.



Arthur Grigorian, MD

Dr. Arthur Grigorian specializes in neurological surgery for Wellstar Medical Group. He obtained his certification from the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Grigorian earned his doctorate from Yerevan State Medical Institute in Yerevan, Armenia. He completed his residency at N.N. Burdenko Scientific Research Institute in Moscow, Russia, and an additional residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Grigorian’s accomplishments include earning fellowships at both the nationally recognized for clinical excellence, Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore and the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia. Additionally, Dr. Grigorian’s is fluent in Armenian, French, Russian and English.

Basheer Shakir, MD

Dr. Basheer Shakir is an expert in complex and minimally invasive spine procedures that offer less pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery time for patients. He also specializes in disk replacements instead of fusions to preserve spinal motion and flexibility, and performs other procedures for patients who have had surgery or suffer from pain not responsive to conventional spine surgery. Dr. Shakir is a past chief of neurosurgery at the Oklahoma City Veterans Administration Health System where he introduced minimally invasive spine surgery and new techniques and technology for spine surgery.
